Kansans helping Kansans – it’s a long-standing commitment that rings true at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. Helping Kansas communities, like Wichita, thrive is important to us because it is important to you. We are committed to providing local support, giving back financially to businesses and organizations to increase community engagement and building a culture around health.
Through corporate sponsorships, we have contributed over $23,000 to organizations including the American Heart Association, GoNoodle, HumanKind, Junior Achievement, Alzheimer’s Association, Kansas Children’s Service League and many more. In addition, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation has donated over $42,000 in grants to assist in various projects throughout the Wichita community, including Project Laundry, Prairie Homestead, Paxton’s Blessing Box, Kansas Food Bank, several community health clinics and community mental health clinics.
Our employees are also dedicated to volunteering in the communities where we work. In 2020, more than 70% of our employees contributed to the United Way of Wichita, totaling more than $17,000 in donations. Our employees regularly volunteer with various organizations and even during the difficult year of 2020, they continued to show up to help in person. Employees provided and delivered a catered meal to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and hosted a drive to collect items from RMHC’s wish list.

Supporting communities across Kansas is in our roots, and we care deeply about the people and the communities that we serve. You can find more information about the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation at http://www.bcbsks.com/AboutUs/Foundation/.
