Missing vaccinations during the coronavirus pandemic puts children and communities at risk

A sweet little mixed race boy with curly hair, sits up on an exam table in a casual t-shirt, as he looks down at the bandage on his arm. The female doctor has her back towards the camera, is wearing blue scrubs and has her hair pulled back in a braid as she places the bandage on the boys shoulder.

The coronavirus (COIVD-19) pandemic has increased the risk of vaccine-preventable diseases as Americans continue to evaluate the safety of in-person doctor visits. A Blue Cross Blue Shield report estimates approximately 9 million childhood vaccinations could be missed by the end of 2020.
