Ad Astra Per Aspera is the official state motto for Kansas. “To the stars through difficulty” is a sentiment that has never felt more true than today. It emphasizes our values and optimism that, even when faced with the most difficult hardships, we come together as a state and keep our sights set on what’s important. With tenacity, humbleness and perseverance, we can get through this, together.
As a company rooted in Kansas for nearly 80 years, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas has deep ties to our communities. During these times when many are struggling, we want to showcase those Kansans who are stepping up and making a difference. These are some of the best examples of help, hope and inspiration.
#AdAstraStrong is a campaign we’ve launched to salute our resilient frontline workers and those behind the scenes fighting COVID-19 across Kansas. To shine a light on these stars, we’re asking you to share stories of those you know who are making a difference.
In addition to asking each of you to use #AdAstraStrong #BCBSKS on your Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Twitter posts when you see someone making a difference, we want to shine a spotlight on some of them during our weekly blog feature.
Do you know a doctor, nurse, EMT or other healthcare worker helping on the frontline during this pandemic? Is there a pharmacist, farmer, small business owner who has shifted their business to benefits their communities in new ways? Do you know a school making 3D printed PPEs, grocery store workers keeping our food supply stocked and delivered, childcare workers, food pantry workers or someone else with an inspiring story who should be featured as a star?
To nominate someone (or yourself) who should be featured, send details with their story, including contact information, to social@bcbsks.com.
We want to share their stories, and will highlight a Kansas star each week.
